Our Team

Meet the Nexcell Clinical Team

Specialty wound care is team work. Here's who you'll meet at our Albuquerque clinic.

Founder · CEO · Medical Director

Dr. Christopher Dominguez, MD

Board-Certified General Surgeon

Dr. Dominguez founded Nexcell to give patients across New Mexico a dedicated home for advanced wound care. As Medical Director, he sets the clinical standard for every plan we build, from the first intake call to the final follow-up visit.

His clinical focus is chronic and complex wounds — diabetic foot ulcers, venous and arterial ulcers, post-surgical wounds that haven't progressed, and pressure injuries. He works in close coordination with primary care providers, surgeons, endocrinologists, and home health teams already involved in a patient's care.

In the exam room he's known for taking the time to walk through what he sees, what's likely driving a wound, and what the plan will look like week by week. Patients leave knowing exactly what to do next.

Chief Medical Officer · Board-Certified Anesthesiologist · Native New Mexican

Dr. Nichole Bordegaray, MD

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Bordegaray began her academic journey at the University of New Mexico, earning her B.S. in 2002 before completing her medical degree at the UNM School of Medicine in 2009. Her professional foundation was solidified through her residency in anesthesiology at the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Hospital, completed in 2013.

At Nexcell, Dr. Bordegaray brings a sharp focus on patient safety, perioperative thinking, and public health — habits that translate directly into how Nexcell reaches large groups of people and underserved communities across New Mexico. Her clinical leadership allows our team to manage complex wounds in coordination with the rest of every patient's care team.

Certified Wound & Ostomy Nurse

Tamarah Griego, RN

Wound Care Nurse

Tamarah is the nurse most Nexcell patients see at every visit. She handles assessment, dressing changes, photography, and the hands-on teaching that turns a treatment plan into something a patient and their family can actually carry out at home.

Her work focuses on chronic wounds, ostomy care, and the practical side of healing — choosing dressings patients can manage between visits, troubleshooting when something isn't working, and recognizing early signs that a plan needs to change.

Patients describe her as patient, calm, and easy to ask questions of — qualities that matter as much as the clinical expertise behind them.

Working Together

One Team, One Plan

Every patient at Nexcell is seen by a coordinated team. Visit notes, photos, and plan updates flow back to your primary care provider, surgeon, endocrinologist, or home health agency — by your preferred method.

Assessment

A thorough first visit: history, wound measurement and photography, vascular and sensory checks.

Treatment

Evidence-based wound care tailored to the wound, the patient, and what's realistic at home.

Coordination

We loop in your primary care, surgeon, endocrinologist, or home health team by your preferred method.

Follow-Up

Scheduled re-evaluations with photos and notes so progress is visible and the plan can adapt.
